Third of offices over Crossrail already let as deals gather pace

More than a third of the new City and West End offices being built above Crossrail stations have already been let, with businesses fighting to secure the best space, according to new data.

Of the 907,000 sq ft of offices property agent JLL looked at across eight Zone 1 sites, about 400,000 sq ft has been let, or is under offer.

These buildings are due to be open between now and 2022.

Deals agreed include financial data firm G-Research taking 102,000 sq ft at Derwent London’s Soho Place development at Tottenham Court Road. Private equity group Apollo Global Management is understood to be closing in on a letting at the same site.

Firms are signing up well ahead of construction completing amid fears new supply is running low in the capital and as Crossrail could be attractive to staff.
