Mount Street has become a haunt for fashion insiders as it continues to combine cutting-edge fashion retailers and brands with village charm.
This has been no accident. The Grosvenor Estate, which owns nearly all the freeholds on Mount Street, deliberately ‘curates’ occupiers.
Mount Street runs between Berkeley Square in the east and Park Lane in the West and spills over into parts of Davies Street and South Audley Street. It was traditionally known for antiques shops, art galleries and traditional businesses such as the gunmaker Purdey.
However, since the arrival of Marc Jacobs in 2007, The Grosvenor Estate have encouraged more fashion brands to move in. Helen Franks (head of commercial leasing at Grosevnor Estate) said ‘ Part of our strategy is to attract high-end luxury brands that don’t already have a presence in London, so that brand won’t be anywhere.”
