Landsec starts office tenants search for big new Piccadilly Circus development

Property giant Landsec on Monday kicked off the hunt for tenants to occupy its major office development behind the capital’s Piccadilly Circus lights.

The FTSE 100 firm is creating more than 110,000 sq ft of offices, as well as shops and a rooftop restaurant at the site, which will be known as Lucent.

Construction on the development, designed by Fletcher Priest Architects and which will also feature gardens and terraces offering views across London, is due to complete in 2022.

This is one of three major projects Landsec is starting this year following a three-year pause on speculative London office developments amid Brexit uncertainty. Boss Rob Noel, who stands down next year, is now more upbeat about occupier demand while the West End is also suffering from a shortage of office accommodation.

Noel has drafted in property agents CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield to look for potential office tenants.
