London – A Retail future?

Esteemed architect Terry Farrell has been asked to advise the London Assembly on the future of the city’s town centres. Farrell will provide the planning committee with a vision for the future. The big question for the London Assembly is whether London’s town centres can compete as retail centres with out-of-town shopping centres and the internet. They ask whether they should consider reinventing themselves for social and cultural purposes.

The current levels of demand from both international and UK retailers for retail shops in London’s town centres would certainly suggest otherwise…
